Pastor Scott Phillips

Our pastor, Scott Phillips, has been serving First Presbyterian Church as Minister of Word and Sacrament, since 2006. He and his wife, Julie, moved to Berthoud from Dubuque, Iowa, where Scott graduated with a Masters of Divinity from The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Scott also has a Master’s Degree in 20th Century British and American Literature from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Sterling College.

Scott was born and raised in Minden, Nebraska, where he was “born and raised” in a family-sized Presbyterian church. His passions in ministry center around preaching, teaching, and interacting with people on a personal level. Scott and Julie also enjoy gardening/lawn care, getting up into the Rockies, watching baseball and other sports, and, most importantly, being parents to their son, Joshua, who was born in May of 2009.
